China Is Working with Latin America for a New World OrdeR

We want "a new type of international order, based on peace and a balanced relation of power," said Liu Hongcai.

China and Latin America are cooperating in order to make the world a more balanced and peaceful place, a senior Chinese state official said Tuesday in Ecuador.

"Cooperation can help to overcome the future economic challenges, increase China's and Latin America's competitivity and their ability for autonomous development," said Liu Hongcai, vice minister of International Affairs for China's Communist Party, at the Latin American progressive meeting, ELAP 2016.

"We want to contribute to the global development, in a sustainable way, and work for a new type of international order, based on peace and a balanced relation of power, pushing for a fairer and more reasonable sense," Liu said at the conference, hosted in the city of Guayaquil.

China and Latin America have collaborated on numerous projects within various international organizations, including climate change and cultural issues.

President Rodrigo Duterte claimed on Sunday that a Chinese official has suggested that he align himself with China because the Philippines cannot expect anything from the United States.

"Ito namang China sabi niya, 'lumipat ka na sa amin wala kayong makukuha diyan (Shift your alliance to us. You won't gain anything from them)," Duterte said during the opening of the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City.

"I'm going to China to make friends with them and also with Russia," he added.

Duterte did not identify the Chinese official he was quoting. Before making the remark, the president was talking about his meeting with Russia Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations meet in Laos last month.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang was present during the ASEAN meet but it was unclear whether he was the Chinese official Duterte was referring to.

Yes the shifting power in the Far East is beginning to be most evident

The Chinese have the stronger hand there.

The Japanese and all the other smaller nations can not depend on the USA to bully China into backing off now

I will bet Japan has a secret Nuke program in place because of the Geo-political situation building in the South China sea.

I hope Trump wins and we get a closer relationship with Russia soon.
