you forgot to mention that much of those 2001 "covid deaths", were cannibalized from other causes of death (in our State, there was a noticeable decrease in common causes of death to match half the "increase" in covid deaths.

He also forgot to mention Covid-19 racked up it's body count in what, only 10 weeks, before he compared it to the annual (12 month) death rate.  At that rate it will have a shot at being #1 over a twelve month span.

Some states, like Florida, are already said to be under reporting Covid deaths.   They don't want to scare the tourists.

Even if the number of Covid deaths somehow became the number one cause of death, there are SIX MILLION people in the state of Maryland. You shut down the whole state/ country for that? ... most states have much less deaths than even that. It's really amazing even this has become a political issue, but it has. The polls show the Republicans want to open up while the Dims want to sit on their ass. Unbelievable.

Of course most of the broadcast MSM are based in New York City, so they treat it like the apocalypse. Being DIms too, they're more than happy to fuel the hysteria.

The projections and models on deaths were way off. It's time to open up.

It will be interesting to see whose attitudes change as the virus moves from the big cities out to the rural areas.

.

No "IF"?
will you come change your attitude if nothing much changes? (as far as the difference between Demo and Repu areas).

AND of course, it's not "big cities" vs "rural areas" as much as Democrat areas vs Republican areas

Death RATE, infection RATE, unemployment RATE

much more

all dramatically illustrating the difference between Good choices and Bad choices...........

It has already affected attitudes.  Statewide lockdowns were put in place when it seemed like everyone would be affected.

When it became apparent the infection (at that time) was mostly in the densely packed cities with mostly minority deaths, armed nut jobs started protesting that they couldn't get a hair cut or go to the tavern.

As it continues to move out to the rural areas, and effects more white and One Percenters, we will probably go back into Statewide lock downs.
