I dunno if you think you're referring to me here, I really am just a bit above average on wealth scale, and worked much more for it than my peers.

cry over having to pay people who are receiving slave wages,
not me again, but I'm on their side for a different reason. I just plain think free people with free choices of wages works out best for all on average,
no biggy tho really, I pay normally 50% more than Minimum wage and have some employees who earn more than 10 TIMES minimum wage on average! and always have

a wage which still keeps them under the federal poverty limit.
well, if Government didn't TAX them so DAMN much at poverty level income, I'd have a tad less problem with Government laws dictating minimum wages.

It's greed like that which has given rise to all these socialist assholes.
The worst greed is GOVERNMENT who has a police &prison system to back up it's GREED.
Not sure how to decribe the GREED of Liberals who demand Government use it's monopoly of force to do Liberals greedy ideas

Every time any wage increase topic arises - all the spite-driven gloom and doom proclamations are made. Which are just veiled threats. All this crap about going out of business, about cutting hours or cutting workers.
All lies.
Well,
I think it's pretty complicated but suffice it to say
it never ENDS up hurting ME nor "my type"
WE always figure a way out and how to benefit

but many can NOT
and one day, the government trying to take the place of businesses by providing a living money,
will end up like USSR etc.

Newsflash, restaurants exist in nations where the servers have higher pay.
News flash back, yes they do BUT as ANDREW unwittingly help point out,
NOT as many nor as many employees and mainly, MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE

Look at the hysterical title of this thread 'end of the middle class service restaurant' ...
YEP, it was an extreme wrong statement but as absolute statements are, just an illustration not an absolute. sorry

Wrong. More like a decrease in the outrageous profits of the owners to benefit the exploited workers. It's still going to be lopsided, but that goes to show the extent of the greed.
I get the feeling many restaurateurs will still be desperately poor going out of business all the time
AT THE SAME TIME many become rich.

I also get the feeling you don't really care what I say,
we all have our own opinions, you see what you see, and interpret as you wish,
I LIVE mine too tho.

But THANKS for your opinions.

That's like saying ever since slavery was abolished, cotton prices increased.

You are arguing that prices are lower because you can underpay/exploit your workers. AS IF you passed on the savings to the customers! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!

It is NOT always the case that when prices goes up, that sales goes down. Simply not a universal truth. There's areas in any market where people are getting too good of a deal, and this is usually due to a group not having equal or powerful enough negotiating power. AKA restaurant workers.

Once prices rise, people just accept it and pay more which is often the proper value. It is only when prices rise above what the public values that sales decrease.

Besides, prices are artificially high in restaurants anyway. For the slave wages that restaurant owners pay, food and service should be much, much lower.

Which goes back to what I said, this is all about cutting into their greedy profits. Making things a bit more fair. Free markets work great, until people abuse or take too much. Then the have-nots rise up.

Many of your peers are the reason for why socialism is on the rise....

I don't blame you for any of this. You take it too personally. You are guilty of serving people toxic MSG infested garbage, but like anything else, buyer beware.
Next time, real ovens...

You do sound an awful lot like a Socialist,
equating FREE Choice jobs with slavery, sheeessh.

and you sound all around amazingly anti Freedom.

your type of thinking is what's increasing this Country's ranks of those on the Government dole

I don't take it personal - I don't even think I'm one of those you're talking about. so I don't care much, especially as I said, I can figure my way out of the hassle and profit even more.
I just feel sorry for the rest of society as we keep destroying FREE choice and FREEDOM and Free Enterprise - in favor of the Government mandates you seem to love so much (till they gore your ox - I'm sure)

all I do is serve people what they bribe/pay me to serve them, salty fatty and unhealthy as it may be.
