The top 1% are mostly CEOs
#1
Chief executive pay in the U.S. is among the highest in the world, according to a recent report by the staff of Keith Ellison, a Democratic congressman for Minnesota. U.S. publicly-listed companies have begun releasing how much their CEOs make under a 2015 rule in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. Pay ratios of Fortune 500 company CEOs to their employees range from 2 to 1 to nearly 5,000 to 1. The average CEO/worker pay ratio is 339 to 1.

Ellison’s staff examined the ratios of the first 225 Fortune 500 companies to publicly disclose their CEO pay. These companies collectively employ more than 14 million workers and generate at least $6.3 trillion in revenue. Two-thirds of the top 1% of American households are headed by corporate executives, the report — “Rewarding or Hoarding?” — found. Median-salaried employees in all but six companies would need to work for 45 years to earn what their CEO makes in one year.

Who said anything about getting rid of CEOs?  They would just be replaced and America would still have the same problem.

The apparent solution is to not let the CEOs have such concentrated power, similar to how you would not want to let the government have such concentrated power.

How to do this?  I think Trump, Buffet, and Warren have some interesting ideas (yes, all 3 admit it is a problem).

NOPE, see that is ALL you Socialist types problems, you really believe that.
the TRUTH is every time and every society that has gotten rid of thier hated "elite" has gone into the POOR HOUSE.
people are NOT all equally capable of doing any and all jobs.

yes, PART of the problem is their unearned power, however, most of THAT comes from Govt, so my answer holds.
but the other issue is you mistakenly think that market free choice is a "bad concentration of power" and it is NOT it is the motivation in exchanges to improve everyone's lives.

What problem is that exactly?

High IQ individuals who work extremely hard to the point where their health and family life suffers in order to make their companies successful?

That kind of problem?

I'll post this again to try and educate you:

Geez, this video again. You really are a one trick pony.

CEOs are harming the modern corporate system because of their inability to think long term and focus only on enriching themselves. Did you know in the last 5 years compensation packages linked to stock price is more common than ever...and what has happened as a result? Record stock buy backs. Pump money into the share price cause so many executives get paid accordingly. Nadella just sold 35 million of his options last week. Tim cook as well. We now have CEOs billionaires.

They have taken over the corporation and elect fellow CEOs as board members. Are they really the best stewards for the modern corporation? Are they going too far focusing only on short term stock price? This is often against the wishes of the founder (guys like jobs, buffet, etc.) It is as if all these Harvard elites figured out a way to rob this countries wealth generators - the corporation.

If Capitalism/the Free Market is making the rich richer and the poor richer faster, then why is the number of American homeless at near record highs?

Why is life expectancy declining in 9 out of 12/15? developed economies (including the United States)?

I question the facts this video is asserting.

BECAUSE, (and I'll say this slowly so you get the point...)

SOME PEOPLE ARE FUCKING STUPID, and no amount of opportunity will save them from their dumb-ass decisions.

Got that?

Right, Andrew.  All of a sudden for no reason in many different developed countries, the IQs of many people suddenly dropped by 15 IQ points.

Nice try, not.

OK smarty pants. What do you suggest the government do with people who are likely to be illiterate and their head fried with drugs?

Your economy could be booming (I gather it is) and they'd still be unemployed...because they're unemployable.

Decisions have consequences
