When I was in high school, admittedly more than half a century ago, we were taught that it was sinfully corrupt and immoral for the English king to send hired killers, Hessian mercenaries, to fight the American patriots.

Now the USA is probably the largest employer of hired killer mercenaries on Earth. I am disgusted.

It seems corrupt to me. Private prisons seem corrupt also. Your disgust is well placed.

You guys seems to have a blind spot when it comes to professional soldiers.

In your war of independence BOTH sides used privateers.

Explain why you're disgusted by a practice that is fairly standard and has been throughout history.
