Harley moving production offshore?

Thanks to EU tariffs, they're not competitive in Europe anymore.

Options include Thailand (where they already have a plant, and Australia.)

I think Trump got this badly wrong. Tariffs are regressive and ultimately hurt everyone. It's also poor strategy on his part: He can't afford to fight a new battle on a new front. He has enough on his plate already.

Yup.  Sure sounds that way.

Hard to say how this will play out.

The media has jumped on one example of a company that might suffer under the new tariffs.

One company!

If there were more that were threatened, wouldn't they cite them too....?   Wink

Meanwhile they're ignoring the tens of thousands of US companies that will benefit. This is because the USA is not a big exporter of finished products - it mostly exports raw materials and other low added value items.

(Harley Davidson needs taking out the back and shooting anyway - it's a moribund company which is losing its client base year by year as they age)

How is Harley Davidson suffering?

Workers and consumers in the USA are the ones paying the bill.
