The Currency Markets seem to have voiced their opinion on who 'won'.

I remember the Mexican Peso going for about 11 per U$Dollar in 2007 (one of the times when I was there).

Since then, its value has been cut almost in half.

However, as the debate wore on, Trump's odds of winning plummeted:

And the peso's value soared:

The Mexican Peso seems a bit of a random thing to show a chart of.  But I wonder how big that upmove was and will be from a longer term vantage point?  And what does it mean anyway?  Were those who buy and sell these two currencies in a big way making rational decisions based on what the two presidential candidates were saying, or was there some sychronicity, some acausal connecting principle,  going on?

Was the dollar falling generally against other currencies besides the Mexican Peso?  Is there any other event that could rationally explain this?  Or is this about the strength of the Mexican Peso against other currencies generally, not just the US dollar?  The timing does look as if it is connected to the debate and political inferences made from this.
