The jobs report is a perfect example of fake news
#1
On Friday, we learned the US economy added 178,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate fell to 4.6%, while over 95 million Americans were not in the labor force.

The official BLS unemployment rate has been total fiction ever since the changes that were made to the computation methodology back during the administration of Slick Willy Clinton.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.

The first President I know of who (started) cooking the government statistics (including the unemployment rate) was LBJ.

He was trying to hide the effect of his "Guns and Butter" (Vietnam and Great Society) policies were having on the American economy and government spending.

Every President since LBJ, AFAIK, has continued that policy.  It just became more obvious during the Clinton administration.

Quote:There is only one official definition of unemployment—people who are jobless, actively seeking work, and available to take a job, as discussed above. The official unemployment rate for the nation is the number of unemployed as a percentage of the labor force (the sum of the employed and unemployed).Oct 8, 2015
How the Government Measures Unemployment
www.bls.gov/cps/cps_htgm.htm

only an idiot (as in most MSM) would claim those "not actively seeking work" and/or "unavailable to take a job",
should be called "unemployed"

I don't give a dammm if you CLAIM you're discouraged or not, if you AINT LOOKING, you AINT UNEMPLOYED!!!  PERIOD!! you JUST not participating, BIG DIFFERENCE.

and this definition has NOT changed in a VERY LONG TIME
that crap about Clinton doing it is a change in defining "available for work" (to a more sensible one!)
hell, even to this day, full time students are classified as "available" even though NOT TRUE, because some idiotic Court said "but they might quit school to work IF we offered them a super good job".
